TselaPay's [Code of Conduct](Link to Full Code of Conduct PDF) outlines the ethical framework and standards of integrity required of all employees, directors, contractors, and agents (Personnel).
As the leading innovator driving cashless mobility in Botswana, our operations must reflect the highest ethical and legal commitment. This summary is the concise blueprint for conducting business with honesty and fairness. Adherence to these principles is a non-negotiable condition of engagement.
1. Core Ethical Principles
TselaPay Personnel are obligated to uphold the following core principles:
Integrity and Trust: Personnel must conduct all business dealings with absolute honesty, transparency, and in a manner that maintains the public's confidence in our payment system.
Compliance with Law: Personnel must adhere to all applicable statutes, rules, and regulations in Botswana, ensuring full legal compliance in every aspect of our technology and service delivery.
Respectful Workplace: Personnel must cultivate an inclusive environment by treating every individual—colleague, customer, driver, and partner—with dignity, courtesy, and respect, ensuring zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment.
Professionalism: Personnel must exercise prudence and professionalism in all corporate communications and actions, both in and out of the workplace.
2. Business Conduct and Practice
Conflicts of Interest: Personnel must meticulously avoid any activity where personal interests conflict, or even appear to conflict, with TselaPay's objectives. All potential conflicts must be proactively disclosed to Management.
Anti-Bribery and Corruption: The offer, gift, solicitation, or acceptance of bribes, kickbacks, or other improper payments to influence any business or government action is strictly prohibited.
Protection of Assets: All TselaPay assets—including financial capital, proprietary technology, data systems, and the TselaCard infrastructure—must be diligently protected from misuse, theft, or unauthorized access.
Fair Dealing: Personnel must engage fairly and truthfully with all stakeholders. Misrepresentation of our services, fraudulent conduct, or abusing privileged information is expressly forbidden.
3. Reporting and Enforcement
Reporting Obligations: Personnel are mandated to promptly report any actual or suspected violations of this Code, company policies, or any law, utilizing the designated channels.
Non-Retaliation: TselaPay explicitly prohibits any form of retribution or adverse action against an individual who submits a good-faith report of a violation or assists in an investigation.
Consequences: Violations of this Code will result in severe disciplinary measures, which may include immediate termination of employment or contract, and referral to appropriate legal authorities.
